No Post-Retirement Rewards for Chief Justices

If the CJP comes in power, no Chief Justice shall be granted a Rajya Sabha seat as a post-retirement reward. The judiciary must remain independent — not just during service, but after. Reward corrupts independence. Independence is not negotiable.

This demand challenges the cozy relationship between the judiciary and the ruling government. Post-retirement appointments incentivise judges to rule in favour of those who will later reward them. This must end.

Election Integrity = National Security

If any legit vote is deleted, whether in a CJP or opposition-ruled state, the Chief Election Commissioner shall be arrested under UAPA, as taking away voting rights of citizens is no less than terrorism.

Democracy lives and dies with the ballot. An attack on voting rights is not a procedural error — it is a fundamental act of violence against the people. The CEC must be held accountable with the same gravity as those who endanger national security.

50% Women in Parliament and Cabinet

Women shall receive 50% reservation, not 33%, without increasing the strength of Parliament. Additionally, 50% of all Cabinet positions shall be reserved for women.

Half the population has been systematically excluded from power for decades. The 33% promise is insufficient and overdue. True representation means 50%. No dilution, no delay. The size of Parliament stays the same — the composition changes.

Break the Godi Media Monopoly

All media houses owned by Ambani and Adani shall have their licences cancelled to make way for truly independent media. Bank accounts of Godi media anchors shall be investigated.

Free press is the oxygen of democracy. When billionaires control what 1.4 billion people hear and see, democracy becomes theater. We demand a free, diverse, independent media ecosystem — not corporate mouthpieces masquerading as journalism.

20-Year Ban on Political Defectors

Any MLA or MP who defects from one party to another shall be barred from contesting elections — and from holding any public office — for a period of 20 years.

The Anti-Defection Law has failed. Politicians switch sides for personal gain while the mandate of voters is stolen in broad daylight. A 20-year ban makes defection not just morally wrong but politically fatal.

🪲 How Do We Achieve This? Our Honest Take.

These five demands are not utopian — they are urgent. Here's how we think they can actually happen:

  • Demand 01 (Judiciary): Pass a law in Parliament explicitly banning post-retirement political appointments for Constitutional court judges. Introduce a mandatory 5-year cooling period with full transparency.
  • Demand 02 (Elections): Strengthen the ECI's accountability framework. Make voter data deletion a criminal offence with mandatory prosecution. Create independent electoral observers with teeth.
  • Demand 03 (Women): Implement Women's Reservation Act immediately, at 50%. Use existing seat rotation mechanisms. Make 50% mandatory for Cabinet formation by law.
  • Demand 04 (Media): Cap cross-media ownership. No single entity can own TV + print + digital + telecom. Break up the oligopoly using existing Competition Commission powers.
  • Demand 05 (Defection): Amend the Tenth Schedule. Remove the "merger" loophole. Extend the ban to 20 years from the current weak framework that barely stops anyone.

None of this requires revolution. It requires political will — and that's what we are building, one person at a time.
